Conceptual Links: The new concept of searching
Author: Manish Shrivastava
Web pages are all about hyper-linking from one page to another.
In a web page, a link is provided to another page primarily as a
reference or extension to the information given in the former.
For a search engine optimization company , these links are of utmost importance,
since the relevancy of information provided and the overall
package of information is established through these links.
Although, hyperlinks are created with the simple objective for
extended information, sometimes, it becomes difficult to
localize the right information. Sometimes, links do not help in
tracing the searched information simply because the person
searching cannot input the exact search term. Also, it is
impossible for a web designer to predetermine all possible
combinations of searched terms and create hyperlinks
accordingly.
As a solution to this, a concept has evolved, which is termed as
conceptual links. Conceptual links work on the search pattern
rather than on the searched terms. It has been observed by some
researchers providing search engine optimization services that
most of the time web users follow and try to correlate websites
or pages based on the common information provided and not based
on links from one to another. This startling revelation has
prompted a top SEO consultant to formulate a common model which would help to
link different pages with respect to the core concept of the
information.
Some advanced search engines are already working on the concept
and developing algorithm to facilitate this. Search engines will
now work on recurrence and words near the actual link and try
mapping the true model of the searched information. Rather than
looking for exact match, the search will now work on the
relevancy and concept that binds pages, which will enable a user
to locate the right source of information quickly and precisely.
Most importantly, the page design and the overall arrangement in
the website should also be remodeled to support this concept so
that a user gets a strongly related linking mechanism while
navigating in a website.
