7 Little Known Powerful Tips to Get Back Links to Your Website Boost Your Rankings Today!

Author: Cheow Yu Yuan

Link building is the most important process in SEO. By getting more back links to your site, you will score higher link popularity and boost your organic rankings in search engines. Link building is not a one-time project. For effective link building, you need to do it consistently.

Many people don t want to get back links from websites that have little traffic. But, this is not your objective here. Of course getting a link from a popular site is good, but getting lots of back links from websites that have little traffic is important too. The number of in-bound links affects your page rank and how your website performs on Google organic search result listings. Therefore, by getting more back links, your site is more likely to rank high on search engines.

Now, let me share with you 7 powerful tips to build back links to your website:

1. Article marketing. This is my favorite link building method. Write articles and submit to article directories weekly. Include your website link in every article that you submit. Another benefit of article marketing is that when other webmasters publish your articles on their websites, you are getting even more back links and traffic.

2. Register your website on the various directories, organizations and business chambers. By doing this, it will enhance your business credibility and gain more back links too.

3. Create a profile page on various social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace and Friendster. Then place your website links on your profile page to gain back links.

4. Advertise your business on Craigslist and other classified sites. Even if you do not get direct sales from the listings, you get back links. Craigslist is the most popular classified site on the Internet and I strongly recommend you post a listing there. One thing to note is that Craigslist has very strict posting rules. So make sure that you read the rules and regulations before posting.

5. Participate in forum discussions. Forums allow you to place your website link in your signature. When you post a thread or reply to a discussion, you are gaining back links from your signature.

6. Post comments on other people blogs. Do not spam and post nonsense comments. Respect the blogger by reading their blog and post useful comments. Before you sign off, list your website URL.

7. Create Squidoo lens. Think of some simple how-to articles and post them on a Squidoo lens. Within your lens, place your website link.

Remember that if you want to see results from SEO, you must build links consistently. Get a few links every week and you are one-step ahead than the majority of people.
